Chinatown

San Francisco has the largest Chinatown outside of Asia; it is the oldest Chinatown in North America.

There are actually 4 distinct Chinatowns in San Francisco (one more being in the Richmond District and two more in the Sunset District), but the Chinatown centered around Grant Avenue is the most well known.

Our place is a short walk from Chinatown. Just walk East on Pacific Avenue for 8 blocks, and you will be at the edge of Chinatown. We used to work in Chinatown, and our family still has an office there, so this is the neighborhood we know most about.

Note about restaurants: although we have general restaurant recommendations, some places are especially good at specific dishes. So, if you have a certain dish or food item you want to eat, we may recommend a specific place that is different from our general Chinatown restaurant list.
