Lombard Street

Lombard Street is called “The Crookedest Street” by many. There are other streets that are claimed to be more crooked (one of which is also in San Francisco), but this is certainly the most famous.

Traffic can be difficult around the crooked section of Lombard Street, and parking is almost non-existent due to the sheer number of people who visit it each day.

Luckily, you can easily stroll to the crooked section of Lombard. Just walk east on Pacific Avenue for 3 blocks until you reach Hyde Street. (You will see the tracks for the Hyde Street Cable Car.) Turn left and walk north for 7 blocks. You will be at the top of the crooked street. As a bonus, you will be walking directly past Swensen’s Ice Cream (the original location, and still open for business).
